An appropriate subtitle for this book would be "Needlecrafts for the Craft". Even non-pagan stitchers are often already using their handiwork as a focus for spell energy, though they probably wouldn't consider a lovingly created scarf to be a protection charm. A wide variety of techniques are covered, including knit, crochet, sewing, quilting, cross-stitch, and embroidery. There are also sections on spinning, weaving, and dyeing, focusing on the magic properties of various fibers and natural dyes, as well as the use of color to represent or attract various energies.

This book assumes readers are already familiar with the basic techniques. Basic patterns are presented with plenty of clear illustrations and close-up photos. The ideas given are very flexible, easily adapted to suit your own purposes. Projects include several altar/meditation pieces, garments, wall hangings, and Tarot bags. There are God & Goddess patterns; a variety of pentagrams, runes, and magical alphabets; and even knit and crochet pattern stitches representing the shapes of the Elements.

For those looking for Pagan and Wiccan patterns, "Magical Needlework" is an indispensable guide - a "must-have"!
