"If you could marry any fictional character - and live in their universe - who would you choose and why?"

June 1998

"Lord Miles Vorkosigan. He's short, filthy rich, and Barrayar has a decent mix of tech levels. I could get used to the life of a Vor lady, running a house full of servants, no worry about expenses, and I could get away with cross stitching all day if I felt like it!"
-- Tracy Hite

"You know I'm hooked on Highlander - so Duncan MacLeod would have to be my first choice. He is also rich - 400 years of good investing, I guess. He fights, he's in great demand as a lover, good friend, honest and moral, speaks just about every language there is, and loves the opera, and best of all he can cook!

"Second choice would be Corwin of Amber!"

-- Cindi Casby

"Hey, he (Miles Vorkosigan) was going to be *my* answer! Of course, his (clone) brother Lord Mark is still available, and unlike Miles, Mark *likes* short women like us, whereas Miles is known to prefer his women to be quite tall (I think he usually winds up with their breasts at eye level -- not that this is a bad thing, mind you!).

"Of course, as Vor ladies we'd have to wear those long skirts, etc., but it's a small price to pay. 8-)"

-- Laura Begley

"Damn, I'm gonna have to join the party. I am tall enough, but I'd have to do it as a Betan like his mom...a Vor lady I ain't!"
-- Cathy Fiorello

"The Long Family (The Heinlein universe). It's a group marriage containing several buxom, redheads with lots of freckles. They have 3 sentient computers, 4 time ships and one large star yacht. Heaven."
-- Ted Begley

"well, they don't 'marry' per se', but can i pick strongbow and moonshade from elfquest?

"('cause why? 'cause whuf is why. mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm archer. and mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm moonshade too, really. :) )

"this would be best if it was earlier elfquest and not the more recent stories with which i am not so amused."

-- R'ykandar Korra'ti

"Helena Justina. Rich daughter of a Roman senator. Everything I want in a woman, and she lives in the end of the first century AD in Imperial Rome, too."
-- Carl Parlagreco

"I would chose "Mystique", A.K.A. Raven Darkholm from the Marvel X-Men Universe. It's been hinted that she may be related to "Nightcrawler" the teleport. While she doesn't appear to possess that ability, she is a shapeshifter. Her wardrobe isn't limited to clothing, make-up, wigs and other accessories. Consider the possibilities..."
-- Archie Harper

"Dane Thorson of Andre Norton's Solar Queen series. He is tall, handsome, strong, gentle, intelligent, and always seems to come out of the most bizarre events making a profit."
-- Janie Broughton
